Psychics are supposed to know what’s coming, that’s why people go to them, after all. But it seems that one psychic in Maryland didn’t see her arrest coming. Gina Marie Marks, who used the name Natalie Miller when conducting business, was arrested at Miami International Airport and has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of felony theft. She now faces up to 6 years in prison for scamming $340,000 out of her clients.
Interestingly, this is the second time she has been charged with scamming people. Marks had similar charges brought against her in Florida in 2009 and 2010, to which she pleaded no contest and guilty, respectively. While she pleaded guilty to felony theft and agreed to return the payments she had received, she maintains that she is in fact a psychic and that her services are real.
What Services Was She Providing?
It appears that Marks’ supposed specialty was casting love spells and reversing curses. In May 2016, a customer came to Marks after discovering her boyfriend was married. Marks told the customer that she could cast a love spell, in exchange for large amounts of cash. The customer agreed, but after spending more than $80,000 in cash and purchases for the psychic, the customer became suspicious. She contacted the police and hired a private investigator, who eventually caught Marks at Miami International Airport.
Marks also told clients she could reverse curses, and even told one client that she would get her money back after the curse was broken. Well, that client never received the $2,654 she had paid the psychic. It’s unclear whether the curse was broken. However, considering the fact that she pleaded guilty to scamming people, it’s unlikely that her efforts to cast spells and break curses were successful.
